The Montessori School for Shreveport

www.RedRiverKids.com School ChildrenPrivate Schools:

When you son or daughter is beginning to grow up and will soon be starting school, you are faced with the decision of what type of school will you send your child to. You have many different choices, such as home schooling, public schools, religious schools, and private schools. Why Use a Private School? This is a big decision whether or not to send your child to a public school or a private one, and many factors are involved. For example, it could be very expensive to send you teen to a private school. Depending on how much the school has to offer for your teen, it could cost thousands of dollars. This is quite a bit of money and makes you ask questions like, will my child benefit more from a private school than a public one? Is it really worth all the extra money it will cost? Will I really be able to afford to send my child to a private school? These are some good questions, and financially you will have to decide, but to help you understand private schools better, we will give you a few good reasons for choosing a private school.

1. Academically challenged
2. Individual attention
3. Safety
4. Push students for college
5. Discipline

Children that are challenged academically seem to perform on a higher level than ones who are not. They know that the school has high expectations for them and will put forth more of an effort to provide this. A private school for teens helps to give your child a higher expectation for themselves, and makes them want to do better than they have to, in order to graduate. (from Educationseek.com)

Visit the Montessori School for Shreveport at www.msshreveport.orgThe Montessori School for Shreveport is one of the oldest Montessori schools in the United States. It was founded in the fall of 1964. Pioneers of The Montessori School for Shreveport established a school that would develop in children a blueprint for life, utilizing the unique Montessori method. Their goal remains our goal, for the school continues to help children with their life plans by providing a prepared Montessori environment, which meets the academic, emotional, physical, artistic, and spiritual needs of each child at his or her particular level of development. The school has programs for children from 21 months through the eighth grade and serves youngsters from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. The exceptionally bright, the average, and the academically challenged have all blossomed under the individualized approach of the Montessori philosophy.
The Montessori School for Shreveport is accredited by the American Montessori Society and is at the forefront of Montessori education in Louisiana. Each classroom is guided by a certified American Montessori Society (AMS) teacher who has been specifically trained for the ages of the children he or she is instructing.
The classrooms allow for a multi-age grouping of children at each level and large blocks of uninterrupted work time. Learning takes place in an interactive social setting, which fosters a sense of community, respect, and consideration for others. Teachers match individual children with carefully organized and sequenced lessons using concrete learning materials in a multi-sensory approach for the child's own discovery and joy of learning. The classroom atmosphere is loving and nurturing with clear limits and choices to assist the child in the development of self-control. For more information please visit www.msshreveport.org
